AVATAR

My favorite movie is a science fiction movie and its name is "Avatar", it is set in the future and placed in a moon called "Pandora".  A humanoid race with feline features and blue skin lives there, they are called Naavi. There exists a mineral that the human beings want to extract and this way solve the energetic problems that exist in the planet earth.

To be able to carry out the extraction of the mineral Jake (Sam Worthington) is sent to Pandora, to integrate himself in the community and deliver information on how the Naavi live in case it is necessary to use force in order to take them out of their land and from the tree where this valuable mineral is found.

Jake fulfills his mission in a beginning but later he is sorry  because on having lived with the Naavi, he starts forgetting his life of a human being (where he cannot walk), enjoy his freedom, value the land, understand the Naavi and their customs. But the most important reason for which Jake does not want the mission to be carried out, is his love for Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), princess of the Naavi community.

I am charmed with this movie because it has a very valuable message,  it is very egocentric to think that we are the only ones in this great universe, this shows how ambitious and selfish the human being is, always wanting more no matter what, seeking to destroy to improve what it has already destroyed. On the other hand it shows that our mind has no limits, the limits we put ourselves, that we must protect our land; respect others and their beliefs because nobody owns the truth.

It is necessary to listen to our inner self, strengthen our bonds of affection and finally when there is love all that we can do, our awareness opens and begin to act from our feelings.

Finally the simple message that the movie left me and that I share with you is: “Make love and not war".

I leave the trailer, a very well made movie, full of colors and special effects and inclusive action that generates a mixture of emotions:

By Catalina Apraiz.
